New Starters September 2026
13 March 2026
Dear Parent/Carer
ADMISSION TO CROFTON SCHOOL
I would like to welcome your whole family to the Crofton School community and to say that we are very much looking forward to working with you for the next 5 years. I hope and expect that our partnership will help your child to be happy and successful.
As you are aware, following notification from Hampshire County Council, there is no need for you to confirm acceptance of this place as acceptance is automatic. However, if you no longer require the place, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing admissions@croftonschool.co.uk, as we would like to be able to offer it to a family on our waiting list.
PARENTS’ INFORMATION EVENINGS
I hope that you will be able to join us on either Wednesday 17 or Thursday 18 June 2026 (6pm to 7pm). To avoid overcrowding, we would ask that parents with surnames beginning with letters A-L attend on the first date, while parents with surnames beginning with letters M-Z attend on the second. Children are welcome to attend; however, the session is aimed at parents.
It is most important that you attend this meeting, even if you already have another child at the school. This will be an opportunity for you to meet me, the Head of Year 7 and other senior staff.
NEW INTAKE INDUCTION DAYS - MONDAY 6 AND TUESDAY 7 JULY 2026
These days will help your child to familiarise themselves with the school environment and how the school day is organised.
We ask that they wear the uniform of their current school and that they bring a pencil case. We hope that these events, together with the visits that the Head of Year 7 and other colleagues will be making to the junior schools, will help prepare our new students for the transition to secondary school and set any worries that they may have at rest.
Further information regarding timings and activities for both of the above days will be forwarded to you nearer the time.
I look forward to meeting you at the Parents’ Information Evenings and to welcoming your child to the school.
Yours faithfully
Mr S Harrison
Headteacher
