Every year, six students take part in the Rotary Youth Speaks competition, where students prepare a debate which they perform against schools from the local area. This year, all six students were very lucky to be invited by our local MP to Parliament for a private tour of Westminster Palace.
After an early train to London, we enjoyed a tour around Parliament, including the House of Commons, the House of Lords, and the Chapel of St Mary Undercroft. Throughout the tour, students were educated on parliamentary systems, historical knowledge, and long-standing traditions.
After the tour, we enjoyed lunch in the glorious sunshine at Jubilee Park. We then took a walk past Downing Street, and onto the Supreme Court. Students were able to go inside the Court rooms, and even sit in the chairs of the Justices!
We had a lovely day, and all students were excellent representatives of Crofton School.
