The senior girls’ football team have been crowned Gosport & Fareham District Champions!!! an outstanding achievement and a fitting reward for a season of hard work, commitment, and determination.
On Thursday 16 April, the team faced a strong Brune Park side in the district cup final. From the first whistle, Crofton played with confidence, composure, and excellent teamwork. A well-taken goal from Gemma B set the tone early on, before Lexie W added two more to give Crofton a crucial advantage. Despite a resilient and hard-fighting performance from Brune Park, our team held firm under pressure, demonstrating great character and defensive organisation to see out the game.
Final score: Crofton 3–2 Brune Park.
This victory not only secured the district title but also confirmed an incredible milestone, the team have gone the entire season unbeaten. Such consistency is a testament to the players’ dedication, their ability to perform under pressure, and the strong team spirit that has been evident throughout the year.
The occasion was made even more special for the Year 11 players, who played their final match for Crofton in this memorable final. To finish their school football journey as district champions, and unbeaten, is a remarkable accomplishment and one they should be extremely proud of.
Well done to all players involved on a truly fantastic season.
