We are excited to share with you the next book vote for our Community Read.
If you are interested and would like to vote for our next read, please see the three choices below and use the link below to vote:
Guilty By Definition, Susie Dent
The Island of Missing Trees, Elif Shafak
All the Light We Cannot See, Anthony Doerr
The votes will close on the 22nd October 2025.
Once the votes are in, we will share the winning book, and you will have the option of purchasing your copy through The Book Shop in Lee-on-Solent (paying via Scopay). We will place the order and distribute the books once we have received them.
What is the Crofton Community Book Club?
Our club is open to all those working within Crofton School as well as the families of our students (this includes extended family members and friends).
The aims of the club are to:
• Meet termly to informally discuss the book and socialise.
• Provide an opportunity to bring staff and the families of Crofton school together.
• Provide an opportunity to engage in reading for pleasure.
• Allow us to carve out time in our busy lives to prioritise reading- which is amazing for our well-being!
• Provide an opportunity to share different perspectives and give everyone a voice.
To join the club, all you need to do is look out for the next read, which will be announced shortly, and enjoy reading it. In a few months we will send out details for a meeting to discuss our read, but this is optional.
Thank you for your support with our Crofton Community Book Club; we look forward to sharing the winning book choice with you all soon!
Yours sincerely
Mrs D Silvester-Mitchell
Teacher of English and GCSE Film Studies
