Year 9 Exams Information Evening

Dear parent/guardian,
I am writing to inform you of an upcoming online Teams session that we are hosting for all parents regarding the Year 9 examinations. This meeting will provide vital information and support as we prepare our students for this significant milestone in their education.
The session will take place online on Thursday 4 December, from 6pm-7pm, and we strongly encourage your attendance. If you would like to attend, please complete the form via the link and we will share with you the Teams link to the meeting nearer the time.
Yr9 Exam Revision - Parent Session – Fill in form
During our time together, we will cover:
1. Our rational behind the exams
2. Topics that will be covered in each subject
3. What we are doing in school to support.
4. How to create a positive learning environment.
5. Study skills (retrieval, flashcards, mind maps, self-quizzing).
6. Wellbeing.
Lastly, there will be a question-and-answer segment where you can raise any concerns or queries you may have. Your input is invaluable, and we wish to address any uncertainties you may encounter. If you have any questions regarding the upcoming exams, please add these onto the designated section on the form link found above, so they can be answered on the day of the meeting.
We have also got a wellbeing practitioner from CAMHS coming in to deliver an exam anxiety workshop for a select few of our students on Thursday 4 December, during the school day. If you feel that your child would benefit from this additional support, please put their name into the designated box on the form via the link above. As spaces are limited, this will not guarantee their place, but we will inform you as soon as we can. We will implement additional support for any student that needs it.
