Year 7 Parent Reading Workshop
Helping Your Child to Become a Reader
Dear Parent/Carer,
As children move into secondary school, reading becomes increasingly important in helping them access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve success across all subjects.
We would like to invite you to a parent workshop designed to support you in encouraging reading at home and helping your child develop positive reading habits.
Helping Your Child to Become a Reader
Date: Tuesday 10th November
Time: 6:15pm - 7:00pm
Venue: Crofton School in the LRC
This workshop will focus on:
Understanding why reading matters in secondary school.
Supporting reluctant readers and building motivation.
Practical strategies for encouraging reading at home.
Helping your child choose books they will enjoy.
Understanding the school's reading expectations and how we monitor progress.
Ideas for developing confidence in readers of all abilities.
Time for questions and discussion.
Whether your child is an enthusiastic reader or finds reading challenging, we hope you will join us for what promises to be an informative and practical session.
We look forward to welcoming you and working together to support your child's reading journey.
