Dear Parents/Carers,
I would like to thank you for your engagement and attendance at the recent Year 11 Parents’ Evening. Your ongoing support is greatly appreciated and plays a vital role as we approach the Summer GCSE examination period.
As we move closer to the exams, it is essential that all students are punctual to lessons and make full use of every learning and revision opportunity available to them.
Recently, we have noticed an increase in the number of Year 11 students arriving late to lessons. Lateness not only disrupts the start of their own learning but also interrupts the progress and focus of the rest of the class.
To address this, from Monday 23 February, any Year 11 student who arrives late to more than one lesson in a week without a reasonable excuse will be issued a 50-minute detention. This detention will take place on Friday afternoons until 4:00pm and will be supervised by Mrs Bryant or Mr Harrison.
This measure is being introduced to reinforce the importance of punctuality during this crucial stage of your child’s education. We are committed to supporting all students in achieving their very best outcomes this summer.
I hope you understand the need for this expectation and that we can rely on your support in encouraging your child to arrive on time and fully engaged in their learning each day. Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Playford
Head of Year 11
