Hot Weather Update for Monday 13th July

Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you've had a lovely weekend.
As the warm weather looks set to continue, albeit with a welcome light breeze, we will be extending our uniform flexibility for the remainder of the term.
Until we break up, students are welcome to wear either their Crofton PE kit or our adapted normal uniform (leaving blazers, jumpers, and ties at home). We will return to our full standard uniform when we welcome students back in September.
Thank you to everyone who supported our hot-weather advice last week. Our additional hydration stations and shaded spaces will remain available, and we would appreciate your continued help in sending your child to school with a full, refillable water bottle, as well as ensuring that they apply suncream before leaving home. Last week, frozen water bottles worked particularly well, so it is well worth considering this practical approach again.
As mentioned previously, we have seen a number of students visiting our medical team with headaches and feeling unwell, symptoms that are often down to early heat exhaustion simply from not drinking enough. Please continue to remind them that drinking sips of water, little and often throughout the day, is the best approach. Taking this simple, common-sense steps makes a huge difference and can help to prevent avoidable visits to medical.
Finally, a quick reminder that Activities Day will take place this Friday. We are all really looking forward to celebrating the amazing achievements of our students throughout the year with this now-traditional reward for their hard work, commitment, and resilience.
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing partnership and support.
