Dear Parents and Carers
As we reach the end of the academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to share some reminders about the end of term and information about the return to school in September.
Staffing Changes
As always at this time of year, we are saying goodbye to colleagues that are moving on. From our teaching staff, Mr Ainsworth (Assistant Headteacher), Miss Davis (PE), Mrs Dugan (English), Mrs Beacon (RE), and Miss Young (Head of Year 11) will be leaving to take on new roles.
From our Support Team, Miss Edwards (Specialist LSA), Miss Nightingale (Student Support Leader, Year 11/7), Mr Dyer (Senior Technician), Mr Greenslade (LSA in The Croft), Mrs Rolls (Finance Assistant) and Mrs Hunt (Progress Support Leader KS3).
We wish all the above staff well in their next steps. I will introduce our new staff when I write to you at the start of next term. In addition, Mitzi Swanson, Vice Chair of Governors. will also be stepping down after 16 years of service. She has contributed a huge amount to the governance of our school, and I would like to pass on my sincere thanks to her for this.
School Uniform
Please check our website to support any school uniform and equipment purchases you may need to make over the summer. www.croftonschool.co.uk/uniform
We appreciate your support in ensuring all students are in the correct uniform and properly equipped at the start of term.
Start of Next Term
The first day of term for students will be Thursday 4 September, which will be Week A and all students are expected to be in school at the usual time of 8.35am.
I am sure you will understand that staff will be using the summer break to take some well-earned rest and will only be able to address the most urgent enquiries during this period, which will need to be directed via enquiries@croftonschool.co.uk. If you have any urgent safeguarding matters that require attention before the start of the autumn term, please email safeguarding@croftonschool.co.uk.
Finally, please remember that Tuesday 22 July will be the last day of term, students will be dismissed at the earlier time of 12.20pm.
I would like to thank you for your support for the school over the past year. Working together ensures your children receive the best support and teaching, and we look forward to continuing this with you in the next academic year.
Yours faithfully
Mr S Harrison
Headteacher
