We are hoping to take a party of current Year 8 students to Bletchley Park
Date: 7 May 2026
Learning Outcomes: History of Bletchley Park linking computing and maths.
The trip is open to 30 students together with 3 members of staff. The group leader for the activity is Mrs Morgan.
Dress: School Uniform with trainers
Transport: Coach
Time and place of departure: 06:30 from school
Anticipated Return: 17.30 (depending on traffic) at school
Cost: £45.50 (Please note that this is a voluntary contribution but that the trip will not go ahead if insufficient contributions are received. If paying for the trip is a problem, please contact Mrs Morgan, trip organiser).
Outline itinerary/details of activity: travel to Bletchley Park: guided tour; attend a workshop; lunch; look around the site; travel back to Crofton.
Additional details/requirements: Once the top-secret home of the World War Two Codebreakers, Bletchley Park is now a vibrant heritage attraction. Immersive films, interactive displays, museum collections and faithfully created WW2 rooms will guide you on a journey to discover the past at Bletchley Park. Find out more about the brilliant minds and complex machines that made this vital work possible and discover the global impact Bletchley Park had on the outcome of WW2.
Personal Cyber Security workshop: our lives are becoming ever more digitally connected. Through discussion, interactive demonstrations and practical activities, students will:
Consider their individual digital world – looking at the devices, apps and data they value.
Identify where weakness in their personal cyber security exist and how criminals might exploit these.
Learn practical ways to improve their cyber security.
Create a plan of action that is unique to them.
Students need to bring a packed lunch, snacks and sufficient drinks for the day.
If your son/daughter’s involvement in this activity affects deadlines in relation to the submission of work, they should inform the member of staff concerned.
Attendance on this trip is conditional on good attendance and behaviour in school. Should your son/daughter’s behaviour or attendance fall below the expected standard, they will lose their place on the trip and any monies paid.
If you are interested in your child going on this trip, please complete the online reply slip, that was emailed home and pay £22.75 by Friday 13 February 2026. The remaining £22.75 is to be paid by Friday 13 March 2026.
Unfortunately, numbers are limited, so if the trip is oversubscribed a ballot will take place shortly after half term. Unsuccessful students will be put on a waiting list to take the place of anyone who drops out.
If you anticipate any problems with making the payment by the due date, please contact the Finance Office and we will do our best to support you.
Yours faithfully
Mrs K Morgan
