Transition Day Arrangements

Dear Parent/ Carer,

We are really excited to meet your child on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th July.

Ahead of these days we would like to share some information regarding the outline, expectations and tutor groups.

On Tuesday 8th July we would like students to come in wearing their primary school uniform and we them ask them to arrive at 8:35am and head to the tennis courts. We will have tutors, additional staff and Year 10 transition leaders directing Year 6 pupils. Students need to head to their tutor who will have a sign with their tutor code so they can be recognised.

At 8:45am we will head to the main hall for assembly where they will have the opportunity to meet their Head of Year. From 9:20am pupils will be in tutor groups following the timetable accordingly.

We will be looking to do a staggered leave from 3pm on this day. We will be taking all pupils back out onto the tennis courts where they will be dismissed from here.

If they are walking home with an older sibling we will ensure they remain here until met by them.

On Wednesday 9th July we ask to come in wearing their primary PE kit and again for pupils to arrive between 8:35-8:45am and head to the same area to meet their tutor as they did the previous day. Again, we will follow the timetable attached.

On this day due to it being our shortened day we will be doing a staggered leave from 1:55pm onwards.

Lunch is provided both days, but your child is welcome to bring in their own packed lunch. All pupils can bring in their own snack for break if they wish to have something to eat then. We will be providing water at lunch with their lunches but do ask you send your child in with a refillable water bottle, so they have access to a drink during the day.

If you have ordered a tie via Scopay, this will be available for your child to take home at the end of transition.

We appreciate this is a huge step and transition can be daunting, however, we wish to make this journey as smooth as possible for your child. The move to Crofton allows for a new opportunity to expand friendship groups and try new subjects.

You will receive an email with your child's tutor group on shortly.

We look forward to meeting all pupils on Tuesday.
