Lyme Disease Report

November 7, 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had a report from a parent this week that their child is being investigated for Lyme disease, which is spread from tick bites. High-risk areas for this include grassy and wooded areas in Southern England so, given the nature of our school site, it is possible the bite may have occurred at school. We are taking this opportunity to share some useful information from the NHS and Public Health England on Lyme disease which we hope you will find informative.

Do please contact me if you have any concerns about this, and of course contact your GP immediately if your child shows any of the symptoms described.

Yours faithfully

Mrs T Bailey, School Nurse
