Road Safety

February 23, 2018

The number of students who cycle to school at Crofton far exceeds anything I have ever seen in a secondary school and this is an enormously positive aspect of school life here. However, this brings with it a great responsibility for everyone who uses the school site and the area around it. You may be aware that one of our students was involved in a serious accident whilst cycling from school towards the end of last term. Fortunately he is making a good recovery, but it is a timely reminder for us all to ensure that safety is our top priority. I know the school has campaigned to improve the safety of road design around the school site and I will be picking this up again with our local Councillors. However, we can all help by driving carefully and as cyclists, ensuring we are using the correct road areas and safety equipment at all times.
