The pupil premium is additional funding provided to schools by the Department for Education.  The pupil premium is calculated according to the number of children from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), and children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months, or Service children.   This funding includes students eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years (known as the Ever 6 FSM measure). The school also receives extra funding for children entering secondary school with lower levels of literacy and numeracy.

Schools are free to spend the pupil premium as they see fit, however, schools are to be held accountable for how the pupil premium has been used and measures are included in the performance tables that will capture the achievement of the pupils covered by the pupil premium.

In the year 2015/2016 the school received £193,840

In the year 2016/2017 the school received £206,375

In the year 2017/2018 the school received £220,885

In the year 2018/2019 the school will receive £205,515

The school monitors the attendance, progress and attainment of students and has identified students from these groups who would benefit from additional support. As a result of this analysis the school allocated pupil premium funding in 2017/18 in the following way:
