Bay House Sixth Form Tuition Sessions

Dear Year 11 students and their parent/carers,

The coronavirus outbreak and subsequent school and college closures have created uncertainty and concern heading into the next academic year. This is a particularly worrying time for those students who will receive their GCSE examination results in August and intend to commence A-Level study in September. We are aware that some students are reconsidering their options and are reviewing the provision offered by their local post-16 providers. We understand that there may be some concerns about public transportation, any potential disruption caused by further college closures and the prospect of reduced face-to-face tuition. In light of this, and in order to support our local community, Bay House Sixth Form will still accept applications, which can be made by following the link here

Bay House Sixth Form is presently providing lessons on site for students who wish to attend as well as offering a comprehensive programme of tuition online.

With smaller class sizes and a dedicated tutor team, the Sixth Form provides a supportive learning environment that encourages all students to achieve their very best. A purposeful, structured approach to study is offered in a friendly atmosphere which provides the highest level of individual support and guidance to all our students, whatever their plans and ambitions.

The Sixth Form at Bay House continues to be one of the best performing A-Level providers in the country. Our outstanding progress score (+0.56 in 2019) regularly places us in the top 1% of all schools and colleges nationally and means we are the highest achieving state provider in Hampshire. Examination performance remains consistent with an A*- C pass rate of 90% being secured in 2018 and 2019.

Approximately 90% of our students choose to continue their studies at university, with the overwhelming majority securing a place at their first-choice institution. Of these, at least four times the national average typically gain places at Russell Group Universities.

A full range of A-Level subjects is offered at Bay House and further information about the details of each course can be found here. Students are also encouraged to take part in our enrichment opportunities, details of which can be found in our prospectus

Should you have any questions or require further information please contact us via email sixth-form-admin@bayhouse.gfmat.org. We will endeavour to respond to your query as swiftly as possible.

Yours Faithfully,

Richard Dadd
