UKAYRoC Rocket competition March 2008
The purpose of the second UKAYRoC National Competition was to design and build a safe and stable model rocket and use it to lift a fragile payload (two raw hen's eggs) to an altitude of exactly 750 feet and also for a total flight duration of exactly 45 seconds, then return the payload safely and undamaged Due to adverse weather conditions on the day of the Finals it was not safe to launch the rockets. The winner was therefore decided by considering the position they would have attained if their best qualification flight score had been reproduced in the fly-off and also the score they get from a five-minute presentation. The judging panel consisted of representatives from the organisers and industry sponsors. The presentations of our two teams are below. Team 1 made second place for the second year running against very tough competition. Team 1 Presentation:Team 2 Presentation: |
