Road Safety

Students’ Health and Safety is always a concern.

We are becoming increasingly concerned with the way that some of our students use the roads especially whilst cycling. Last month we invited Chris from Hampshire’s Road Safety team in to come and talk to our Year 7 students. He discussed the dangers of cycling and the importance of wearing a helmet. The previous week we had held a workshop for Year 9 students on distractions whilst using the roads. We also invited in Amy from Living Streets, who set the ‘Free your Feet Challenge’. The aim for our students is to try and increase the distance they walk this week as compared to the week before. A student from each year group won a £10 gift voucher.

We are also proud to say that over 40 students have taken the Level 3 Bikeability course this year.
