Year 8 Sailing
Thirteen Year 8 students went to Langstone Harbour from 29th Sepember to 3rd October for a week's sailing. Here are some comments from the week.....
"I really enjoyed the week
because we went sailing and
climbing. Thank you for taking
us." "I enjoyed the week and think
that everyone should have a go.
It was absolutely brilliant." "We learnt how to put up the sail
and how to use a boat. The best
bit of the week was all of it!" "On Friday we were supposed to
sail to Hayling Island but it was
too windy so we did climbing
and trapezing. I
am glad we did
because I saw the
wall on Monday
and wished all
week I could have
a go." "I did not enjoy the climbing
wall.........I think that other
children should go sailing
because it was a great
experience." "We learnt how to sail with
others and get on with other
group members."
"Once upon a time we
went sailing to
Langstone Harbour." "After lunch we didn't get to sail
because it was too windy so we
learnt how to tie knots with
rope." "In the morning it was fairly
breezy and Dan and I capsized
(unfortunately, there was a float
sewn into the top of the sail). It
was rather fun, yet tasting the
salt-water was h-o-r-r-i-b-l-e!" "We had our ups and downs but
we did get a lot of thumbs up
from Mr O'Dowda." "It was the best week and it was
fantastic." "I got scared when I got to the
top of the rock tower because I
thought I was going to die." "We had to learn how to steer,
which was easy......
afterwards we went
