Eight schools were ready for a battle in a book quiz at Bridgemary Community Sports College in Gosport. Each school provided a team of two Year 7 and two Year 8 pupils.

The participating secondary schools were Bay House School and Sixth Form, Bridgemary Community Sports College, Cams Hill School, Crofton School, Hamble Community Sports College, Henry Cort Community College, Portchester Community School and Swanmore College of Technology.

The quiz was organised by Hamphsire School Library Service and local school librarians and was also supported by Sainsbury’s in Fareham.

There were eight rounds with ten questions in each round on children’s literature.

Unfortunately, our team didn’t win but Lauren and Josh from Year 7 and Cameron and Laura from Year 8 all had an enjoyable evening. All participating pupils were rewarded with a fiction book as a reminder of their involvement in a special event.
