A Parent and Student Guide to the Learning Support DepartmentWhat happens when joining Crofton School?
What else has Learning Support to offer?
Homework club is offered to all students and is run by Mrs Horwell and Mrs Williams on a Monday and Thursday 3:10 - 4:00pm (free refreshments available). Laptops are available, by arrangement, for any students who may experience difficulties with handwriting. IEPs are individual education plans. They are revised for students to help them reach set targets. Staff use these to ensure that any SEN provision is in place. Other opportunities the Learning Support Department can offer
In November 2006 the Learning Support Department took a team of students with physical disabilities to participate in a swimming gala. The event was held in Southampton and involved many other schools. The students enjoyed the event and found the opportunity of achieving alongside other students with similar disabilities, very rewarding. Crofton is hoping to participate in this event annually.
