Exam results 2011
The school’s provisional GCSE results represent a small improvement on last year.
144 (66.1%) students achieved the so-called “gold standard” of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or better, including English and maths – this is 2% better than at the same point last year, prior to appeals.
173 achieved at least 5 A*-Cs overall (79.4%, up from 76% last year), whilst all 218 students achieved at least 1 GCSE pass.
40 achieved 5 A*-A (18.3%, down from 19.4% last year).
Sophie Burton, Hannah Davis, Charlotte Hampson, Will Holt, Charlotte Hooper, Lucy Kimbley, Jack Langley and Owen Maynard really excelled, achieving A or A* in every subject that they studied.
Commenting on the results, Mr Leeming said: “We are really delighted by the results of so many of our students this year. They were a lovely year group and fully deserved all that they have achieved. Now we need the new Year 11s to do even better !”
