Crofton School is an over-subscribed specialist 11-16 Science College with over 1000 students and an excellent reputation. It serves the village of Stubbington, a short distance from the sea and within easy reach of the centres of Portsmouth and Southampton.

We are looking for an exceptional colleague to welcome our new Year 7 students to the school, oversee their transition from Key Stage 2 and ensure their academic and social progress in their first year with us. You will be an experienced teacher (preferably of English, maths or science) with excellent interpersonal skills, a clear sense of moral purpose and a passionate commitment to the success of the 216 students in your care.

Training as a Teacher

Like many schools, we want to encourage people to consider a career in teaching. While many teachers enter the profession directly from university, increasing numbers are choosing to begin their training a little later in life. Teaching is the most wonderfully rewarding profession and it is never too late to start!

Since September 2009, we have been working with Chichester University and CILT to host the Graduate Teacher Programme. This scheme allows people of all ages to become secondary school teachers whilst working full-time at school.
