About Us Crofton School opened in 1974 as a purpose-built comprehensive school with an intake of six First Year Tutor Groups of boys and girls. The school’s population has now grown to 1,000 students with seven tutor groups in each of the five years. The spacious site is partly wooded and landscaped.
Crofton is an 11-16 Foundation School, serving around one thousand students from Stubbington and the surrounding area; it is small enough to retain the personal touch but large enough to be well-resourced. It has an ordered, purposeful and happy atmosphere. The school enjoys a reputation for both academic success and for caring relationships. At Crofton, we believe that every single person matters and that our school community, as a whole, matters. Specialist Science CollegeWe are developing the natural links between Science and Mathematics, and the other subject areas. Scientific literacy and numerical reasoning help our students better understand the issues facing the modern world and make them more employable. We offer enrichment activities, not only for our pupils but also for members of our local community and partnership schools, providing opportunities to have their lives enriched by their involvement in the Science College venture.
